Of what relevance to the common man is the show of might by NUPENG, forcing fuel stations and fuel depots to shutdown for Monday 8th September 2025 and Tuesday 9th September 2025 before the call off?
The entire economy of the country was paralysed for this thoughtless and reckless shutdowns of fuel depots and fuel stations. Nigerian common man is architect of his own problem.
Is NUPENG protecting the interest of the common man or selfish interests of few individuals? NUPENG and PENGASSAN have become agents of underdevelopment.
The country will fare better if NNPCL and subsidiaries are scrapped and federal gov’t allows the private sector to manage and operate both Upstream and Downstream of the petroleum industry. Federal government and its agencies can only remain as regulators.
We are told Dangote Petroleum Refinery refused to allow trade unions in the company hence NUPENG forced all fuel depots and fuel stations to shutdown. Nigeria’s problems are not caused by the leaders only but partly by the common Nigerians due to greed and unnecessary show of ego.
Dangote Petroleum refinery has brought end to fuel scarcity era, no matter how one looks at it. Those who believe they want to gain form NUPENG in Dangote and were not allowed should quit and look for job elsewhere.
Dangote has been accused of employing foreigners to run his Refinery. The reason may be due to trying to arm twist Dangote to run his Refinery down as experienced in the nation’s public refineries that are obsolete and useless.
They are usel!ss because they pay workers who sit idle and receive monthly salaries without work and the impunity is supported by NUPENG and PENGASSAN.
No NNPCL subsidiary is running viably. There is one called Nigerian Gas Company (NGC) that has no economic relevance and they keep their staff to receive salaries and allowances for practically doing nothing.
NEPL is another one that has no relevance but every time federal government wants to lay off these redundant NGC and NEPL personnel, NUPENG and PENGASSON will object and go on strike to shutdown fuel depots and fuel stations. Why do you think foreign investors will invest in Nigeria if they are being frustrated by Nigerian trade unions and workers?
Why are Nigerians crying of unemployment if they deliberately for selfish reasons chase away investors and investments from the country. NUPENG and PENGASSON have become tools to sabotage the economy of Nigeria with unnecessary strikes and shutdowns of fuel depots and fuel stations to create artificial scarcity that will create further hardship for the people.
Is it crime for Dangote to have established Refinery in Nigeria? There are lots of Nigerian billionaires who stockpile their money in banks yielding interests for themselves.
Here Dangote is investing in the country and taking youths from the streets to factories and some useless NUPENG leaders are frustrating him. Why should Nigerian masses allow NUPENG and its leaders to sabotage Nigeria?
This is not about Tinubu but about the reckless and thoughtless NUPENG. Why should Nigerian masses allow NUPENG to wreck more havoc and cause further hardship on ordinary Nigerians?
Whether NUPENG calls off its strike action or not we should all condemn NUPENG leaders. They deserve beating by the masses for inflicting further hardships in the past two days.
